We’re proud to offer Toronto’s Bloor West Village and High Park districts high-quality Registered Massage Therapy services from our staff of certified RMT’s at reasonable rates.
We offer the following types of massage:
- Relaxation Massage
A lighter form of Swedish massage, it is recommended for those who are uncomfortable with deep pressure or heavy strokes. Gentle gliding movements, kneading and circular movements are applied to the body. Strokes are applied in the same direction as the flow of blood to the heart to enhance circulation, offering relief from pain and instill a state of relaxation. - Sports/Deep Tissue Massage
This is a technique which uses more forceful strokes to more fully penetrate the inner layers of muscles. It is effective for releasing chronic deeply buried tension in the body and focuses on specific areas. It is also used to speed up recovery from an injury and to break up and soften scar tissue. You may feel a little soreness during or after but you should feel much more energetic and relaxed once the soreness disappears. Tip: It is a good idea to soak in a hot bath with baking soda to draw out the toxins after a sports or deep tissue therapy. - Shiatsu Massage
This massage focuses on the same pressure points as in acupuncture, or on sensitive areas in the body that are formed from clumps of tight muscle fibers. These form in your muscles after injuries or overuse. The therapist applies deep and firm pressure by using fingers, thumbs, elbows, forearms or feet and knees to these points combined with stretching or rotating and manipulating the joints. Like in acupuncture, Shiatsu aims to rebalance energy flow along the meridians. Tip: A hot bath with baking soda to draw out toxins is recommended. - Reflexology
Pressure is applied to points on the feet that correspond to nerve endings. Each of these nerves are linked to an organ, gland or part of the body such as the eyes, ears and head. By doing so, reflexology relieves tension, relaxes the body, reduces stress and releases toxins. It also breaks up deposits left by toxic by-products. There are more than 70,000 nerve endings in each foot, interconnecting the spinal cord and brain with all parts of the body. Stimulating these points keeps the body in balance. - Pregnancy Massage
This specialized form of massage brings relief and comfort to pregnant women, who undergo many body changes. Not only does it support the physical and well being of the mothers-to-be, pregnancy massage supports healthy development of the baby. It focuses on reducing swelling, preventing muscle cramps and back pain, and soothing the nervous system of the expectant mother.
